A decoration for balcony and garden

Catnip is a lush flowering and quite easy-care plant that feels extremely comfortable in flower borders, farmers and rockeries, but also in balcony pots.

The gentle flower veil makes it an optical highlight, while its silvery green, mint fragrant leaves are almost captivating on cats.

Insects appreciate their nectar very much. When pruned after the first flower, the catnip blooms again in autumn.

Everything for the cat

The active ingredient Nepetalactone contained in the essential oils of catnip is a strong pheromone that cats perceive when sniffing on the plant.

This substance is very similar to the natural sex attractant of cats. The absorption of pheromone can show an anxiety relieving and euphorising effect, it releases lucky hormones

Not rarely cats rub on the plant, nibble on it, play and dance them.

It is so easy to grow

Catnip loves airy, sunny locations with permeable, nutrient-rich and humous soils. Sow February – May in warmth, June outdoors.

Press lightly, keep moist and avoid waterlogging. Germination: 10-15 days at 18-22°C After the last frost, the young plants can be placed outdoors.

When sowing timely, the plant will still bloom in the same year.

This allows catnip to be used

Both fresh and dry, you can use catnip into tea.

If you like to use the mint for your house cats, you can cut off individual leaves or shoots and let them dry upside down dark and airy. The dried leaves can then be easily chopped or crumbed. These can be distributed on the scratching board of cats, for example, or their toys and cuddly cushions roll in it to awaken their play and hunting instinct. Something catnip in the transport box can also make the trip to the vet more enjoyable.

We recommend putting the toy with catnip away after about 20 minutes and packing it airtight so as not to overirritate the animals and preserve the scent of mint.

We love cats

That’s why our catnip has been carefully tested and found well by our OwnGrow kitties Nahla and Simba.

Please note: Not all cats react to catnip This is genetically related and completely natural So if the kitty does not start on the scent of the plant, do not be disappointed, it can sometimes happen.

And even if your house cat should not be amazed, catnip still forms a great decoration for your garden and balcony with its enchanting flower.
